AMD Ryzen R5 2400G integrated GPU issue with 75Hz Monitor
Hey guys!
I've got an interesting issue with an integrated GPU in Ryzen R5 2400G. So I'd like to tell you that so you can fix it by yourself in future.
Subject:
Last week I helped my friend to build a PC based on AMD hardware. As you may notice from the topic name it was AMD Ryzen R5 2400G with an integrated RX Vega 11 graphics. MB was MSI X370 Gaming Pro and DELL se2717h monitor. The other parts are not important.
After all the parts were on the right place and everything was plugged in we started the system for the first time. The monitor doesn't show anything. The only message it shows was something like "I can't see the signal, try to give me 1920x1080@60Hz". We were like "Whaaat? Here you go, eat it". We could not even get to the BIOS.
The other components worked fine, even fan controller on the front panel of the case
After googling a little, I figured out that the motherboard gives 75 Hz by HDMI to the monitor, but the GPU could not run 75 Hz without any drivers.
So, we found an HDMI to VGA adapter and connected the monitor via this adapter. After that, we installed Windows, driver and all the staff. Only after the GPU drivers were enabled the monitor was running at Full HD@75 Hz.
