Funny you mentioned the fans. Despite several boot ups today it didnt fail once. Usually it fails within minutes. The only difference is today I had the central heating on because family were coming. I live alone and normally only heat one or two rooms. Neither has the desktop in it.

A fan, I dont know which one, has been getting noisy. I'll try your suggestion. Anything is better than 200 for a new card. Thanks.
