    No HDMI

I have a dual boot system with Linux and Windows 7 on it. Linux works fine. Windows 7 suddenly stopped sending a signal to the HDMI monitor after it does the swirling thingys (technical term there). I hear the sound Windows makes when it starts up, but cannot get a signal to the monitor. Again, the hdmi monitor works fine with Linux, so this is not a hardware issue.

I was changing from a wired usb keyboard and mouse to a wireless keyboard and mouse. But have gone back to the wired ones. Windows does start up in safe mode and I get a display. I am able to restore to a system that was saved a few days ago, but there were not any differences in drivers.

I don't know what else to try.

    Thanks

The display worked at high resolution in safe mode, and linux. I got the no HDMI message only in windows 7 normal mode. I looked at the startup programs (I don't think that there were any) and tried a whole bunch of stuff. Finally, I guessed that a driver isn't being loaded properly. So, I booted to windows normal mode, got the no HDMI message, unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged the HDMI cable back in. Windows 7 works after doing that. I marked this as solved, even though I'm not really sure how it got solved.

Technology is wonderful- when it works!

    Glad you got it resolved.
