    Screen Size - Help

    Hi Everyone,

I have just updated my Sony Vaio Laptop to windows 7 from xp home. Everything is working fine apart from the viewable window size. There is a black sourround around any viewable screen about an inch thick, I have tried to adjust the resolution and the max available is 1024 x 768. Font size is set to smaller but still this very annoying screen remains,

any help or advice greatfully welcomed.

    MAny thanks

Sounds like a refresh rate problem. Play around with the refresh rate. Usually between 75 and 85 hertz.

That sounds like a driver issue. Make sure your drivers are up-to-date.

At a guess, the laptop is running with the generic VGA drivers rather than the ones specific to its graphics adapter.

You provided no information that would allow anyone to direct you to proper drivers. There may be some available from Windows Update, or Sony.

Go to Device Manager and find your graphics adapter. Right-click on it and click "Update Driver".

    Hi Jinkus,

Here is a link to the Vaio support pages Vaio : Sony Europe

Use Log-in option 2: Select your VAIO model

If you let us know this information, we can see if we can find anything else for you.
