vga connection to tv works, but hdmi with splitters audio fails

Hi,

When I connect the pc to cpu with gva and hdmi with the tv , the audio works on both media , as per the selection of audio device, of video card having both vga and hdmi port each.
But , when i use a splitter from the hdmi in port in the cpu with the splitter connecting both pc and tv with hdmi connection, the video works , but audio do not work in the tv.
Why The tv device icon in the playback settings is shown as non plugged device with greyed icon.
I know the splitter works , because it is sending the video signal.
Could some one thro light on this behaviour.
The Tv is in the nex room hardly connected with a 15 feet hdmi cable . The splitter is usb powered.

When i connect the vga from cpu to pc, and directly hdmi cable from cpu to tv, i get the playback icon for the second device and so the volume, i could route to pc or tv, by selecting the device default.the nvidia control panel shows the hdmi source as Samsung , that is the tv.
If I use a splitter to connect to pc, and tv, cpu to pc thro one hdmi,thro splitter and the other thro,the other port of hdmi in the splitter to tv, then i could only route the video , but audio playback of the tv, does not show up at all. Here in this connection, the audio device is shown as pc and i could hear sound in the pc speakers.
I want hdmi experience on both my pc and tv, which is not yet possible after getting the splitter.
On every article so far i read that both audio and video signal passes thro the splitter and the splitter merely split the signals of both video and audio.

If VGA is connected to the pc, and splitter is connected thro splitter to the computer,without the other hdmi is connected, I get the audio icon in the playback settings, the nvidia control panel show the hdmi connected source as hdmi splitter in this connection.
with the other port , not used in the previous example, of the hdmi splitter and i get the audio, and it is labelled as Samsung-1 , denoting the tv device connection
3.When i connect the splitter hdmi connection onlyl with the pc, the audio is shown as not plugged in both the hdmi ports.
4. when i also added the tv hdmi in this scenario, the audio is shown as not plugged in.

i have described all the scenarios ut if i connect the other to pc, I am having the problem in audio not detecting or plugged on

Right click the desktop and chose the NVIDIA Control Panel option. On the left hand side look under Display. Now find the option for "setup digital audio." In that option you may have to setup the TV for audio.

It's very hard to understand your writing so I'm only going by the most obvious solution.

Hi, I have already tried that . The playback option shwos the connected device icon. But , not plugged in , is shwon on the icon. Nvidia HIgh Definition Audio not plugged in, even when it is plugged in.
When analog boot up is done by connecting the cpu vga port and just plugging in hdmi from tv, the nvidia playback icon is showing up and I do not have any problem in seleting the playback in TV.
This is the same , when I connect a splitter in between the tv and cpu hdmi port thro a hdmi splitter, keeping the vga connection for the pc monitor and the icon shows as hdmi splitter in the connection settings in Nvidia control panel.
But , when i connect the pc monitor thro hdmi thro the splitter , and the other with tv , with two ports available in the splitter, the playback tv icon, is shown greyed with the not plugged in error.
This is the crux of the matter.
Now I think , i made it clear and expecting the reply
So, when analog signal is on one of the port, and the other is in hdmi port with direct connection with hdmi with tv, or through the splitteri in the middle, the audio playback is not greyed and audio is selectable.
But, when computer boots in hdmi display mode, the icon becomes greyed and audio in tv is not selectable
