my monitor shows as hdmi to tv connection, but shows the monitor name

Hi, I bought recently nvidia geforce 210 video card and in the nvidia control panel that comes with the driver for the card, in updated latest version, when checking the display section, my monitor correctly shows the name but the connector is shown as hdmi to tv, instead of hdmi to pc.
I contacted nvidia, they say the issue is an issue on the EDID .
I am still having the problem.
If I connect the one available hdmi port on the card with a splitter and connect the tv, the pc name remains as above , and the tv connection show as dvi to pc , instead of hdmi to tv.
Is it because, the system or the drivers refuse to forget the previous settings, when i would have connected the hdmi with tv and vga with pc.
it looks weird.I also wish to state that nvidia has no plans to upgdate the drivers for this card.
My samsung monitor does not have any dvi port is another poilnter in this regard.
