Right. I firmly believe in good downloading habits/awareness along with a manual scan every now and then with Malwarebytes instead of an installed antivirus app that starts with Windows.

I happen to really like ZoneAlarm and it has Kaspersky built into it. So I use it just because it's there already. If it wasn't, I'd be running without any antivirus at all.

Most antivirus are worse than most virus.

I view it as "having sex and then putting on a condom".... You browse the web THEN scan? Really? Do you have sex and THEN protect? It's a very apt example, and people argue that it's better than not having AV but I dissagree.... If you backup properly, with certain data more frequent than others, then re-installing a base image is quicker than any AV scan. =(

Thing is, I didn't have any antivirus program when I first installed 195.62 (right after installing Windows) and it still caused a BSOD. Now I do have AVG Free edition though.

    No!! lol

AVG causes the most bsod and poor performance of all software. You'd be best to uninstall that asap.

Believe me I know. I debug on here and have repaired at least 100 machines in total that had that.

Well AVG has nothing to do with my problem, since the 195.62 driver crashes my system regardless of whether AVG is there or not.

Mine has been crashing lately too, it might be due to an overclock but I didn't have issues until the new drivers, I'm getting a good OC on it too =( I had 660/1700/2000 but now it's down to 635/1635/1880 =( The ram is what really pisses me off, maybe I should see if it's a cooling issue. I haven't cleaned it out since I stopped smoking. =( I don't want too either.

    [edit]

    Stock is 600/1500/1800

I might re-do the bios and see if just turning down the core and mem a little will help. Shaders gives the most performance, but mem/shaders helps too. Though I like how it's really a 9800GT haha
