    AMD's next high-end GPU will be 55nm

When the rumor mill started grinding on about the "RV790," a future high-end AMD graphics processor, one might have assumed that chip would be based on 40nm process technology. After all, word is that a 40nm RV740 GPU will hit mainstream graphics cards in May. But no dice. Expreview reports that AMD will in fact rely on an older 55nm process to get the RV790 manufactured.

They have an engineering sample of a 40 nm card out already!

I really am beginning to like the Red Team, but I'll wait more since DX 11 will be just around he corner with 7's launch!

It seems that both AMD and nVidia are both just re-releasing existing technology. nVidia, the worst, is just rebranding, ATI is, essentially, resetting clocks. Seems if you have either of their higher end cards, you'll be fine till 2nd gen Dx11. Providing there are games that actually are written in Dx11.
