Hey, I had one of those.

In whatever order I can remember:

    - IBM monochrome adapter (no graphics)
    - IBM CGA
    - Tandy CGA in my flaky 1000
    - Tandy EGA
    - Tandy VGA

    Then I smartened up...

    - Trident 4MB
    - A couple of Virge S3 cards
    - Nvidia MX440 64MB
    - An ATI AGP I can't remember the number of
    - Radeon 3450 x2 in Xfire
    - Radeon 4670 that slays all of the above put together.

Good thing, cuz I ran out of slots.

I'm definitely going to forget something.

    Geforce 7300LE
    Geforce FX5200
    Geforce FX5500
    Geforce 8400GS
    Geforce 8800GTS 320
    Geforce 9800GTX+ OC
    Geforce GTS250 HDMI

Can't really remember before the 7300LE...those were my "party" days. Hopefully upgrading to something big and beefy next month. Thinking about going ATI since my mobo supports crossfire, and not SLI...not sure yet though. Heard to much about driver issues with ATI.

If by "veery advanced" you mean limited and overly expensive, then I agree completely.

Hmm...I might just make the leap then, as long as I can find a really beefy HDMI card. Thanks for letting me know about the drivers.
