Can't Increase Game Resolution to Max

Right now in all games I can only increase the resolution to 1280x MAX. I can't get them up to 1920x, this is pretty annoying. I'm using nVidia 9800gx2 and yes the drivers are updated. I'm using a TV as a monitor.

My nvidia control panel doesn't have the option to adjust the resolution of games just the default monitor resolution.

That would be the same thing no?
Or are you playing them in a downsized window?

I noticed in Rainbowsix when i changed the resoloution and restarted the game as most do it didnt effect it whatsoever except it ran a bit better.

What I meant by that, the default resolution is the resolution you have while not playing a game. The resolution in-game is always set to default 1024x and you always have to change it to your monitor's resolution. When I go in-game, there is only 800x to 1280x available to choose.

    Ah i see.
I think that would depend on the game if i understand it correctly.

That is often the case however this issue isn't just occurring in one game but all games I have. I was previously able to play them in max resolution on my old 22' monitor but since I switched to this TV monitor, I wasn't able to. I used to be able to until I moved my CPU case to another TV I had and moved it back then this problem just pops from nowhere.

    Im stumped
It sounds like the game isnt picking up that the tv can use that resoloution.
    Was anything changed since?
Can your other screens still use the max resoloution?

Dunno, my Gateway monitor recently died on me and I don't want to move my CPU case to the den to find that out. I'm really unsure what settings I changed that would cause that.

Do any of you know where else I can increase the resolution of my games other than the control panel or in-game menu?
