    hp pavillion dv6000 screen resolution problem


    Hi just installed w7 and i cant seem to change the resolution to anything other than 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 when i know the recommened resolution for my screen size should be 1280 x 1024 also... whilst im typing this every 2 lines or so my cursor will skip to another line and start typing somewhere else!! any help appreciated!! thanks!

    Hi, and welcome. What graphic card are you using? Have you checked for windows 7 updates yet? :)

    i managed to fix it just had to find the right driver i think i have a similar driver related problem with my other windows 7 netbook.... ive got a sumsung nc10 originally had xp an upgraded ram to run windows 7 smoothly but im having a problem... everytime i plug headphones in to my netbook no sound comes out an i have to restart to get the sound to work... what would be the ideal audio driver?? the realtek windows 7 one??

    Hello y2matt.

    The Windows Update driver enables most audio features and is the most stable.

    However, in most cases it lacks of built-in microphone support. I would suggest to download the Vista driver (High Definition or AC97 , depending on your audio card ) from Realtek

    hey what driver did you end up using for that? I cannot find something that will work with my 64 bit windows on my hp pavillion dv6000.

    You should probably go to the OEM's website

    Select software and drivers #

    It looks to be a Conexant Codec you're using not Realtek.

    hi i just installed windows 7 ultimate on my dv6000 and went into device manager then updated all my drivers and it fixed my screen and sound issues hope that helps

    tried this but it only offered "Generic Non-PnP Monitor" in Monitor type and no driver updates...HEEEELP PLEASE
