Wait a sec, you're right, wrong part of the specs.
Wait a sec, you're right, wrong part of the specs.
No prob.
IMO, the HD 5850 & 5870 will have trouble keeping up with these new nVidia cards.
But then again, AMD will probably have an answer for 'em in the HD 5890.
so does this card beats 295 in performance
i saw this one beats 295 in cpubenchmarking site!!!
EDIT: just watched my post count of 777 :)
that's is bloody stupid, so that other GB of RAM just sits there, doing nothing.......
there is a CPU bottleneck here, in order to fully open these cards we need PCIE 2.0 (which you have) & a 1366 or 1156 platform.
my Quad @ 3.6ghz is a serious bottleneck & i think my chip is slightly better than yours clock for clock... (no Ego involved)
the HD5970 outperforms the GTX295 in ALL benchmarks
check this guy out, running Quad CFX (2x 5970s)
im sure this beat or come close to the previous world record, & this is on AIR!!
Yeah
I should have known by looking at the specs, but I lived in hope of some 'magic'. If it were truly 2Gb usable, that would have meant each 'card' has 2GB alone.
Then they would have marketed it as 4GB
It's the same with any dual card setup in SLI/Crossfire. Look at GPU-Z when you're running the game, and both sets of memory should be being used, but it's only the same things being added afaik, so say you're staring at a wall in game, the wall texture will be loaded in to both sets of memory, I think... but like what SE said, for single PCB cards, it is more or less a marketing gimmick.
