Windows 7: Nvidia go7950 & Dell XPS M1710

Nvidia go7950 & Dell XPS M1710

I have the above configuration when i attempt to install the nvidia driver my system, simply hangs. The repair reports the driver as being an issue. Can anyone offer any assitance. I have read elsewwhere on the net and others say this is working very well.

Hi CAD, Welcome to SF,

You might wanna remove the drives that came with Microsoft update first.

Go to Start > Right click on Computer > Click on Properties > Then Click on Device Manager

Expand Display driver Right Click on Nvidia <xxxx>
Go to Properties > Go To Driver Tab > Click on Uninstall

Then you can use the Tool nVidia - Nasty File Remover

Then Reboot the system

Then download the latest divers from here

hi I did a fresh installation of windows 7 32 bit and found out that when you update NVIDIA quadro nvs 510m driver it restarts with black screen but looks like windows has loaded so did some research and found out no solution for this so put vista back on and now doing the same thing! Dell M1710 Laptop - System Freezes Applying External Power
So, if my system is working fine on the power supply and I disconnect it to run on battery, this works fine... but when I plug the laptop back in, the system locks up. Any ideas?
