    ATI HD5570 or GeForce GT430?

    Hi guys!!

I'm planning to upgrade my desktop soon and my budget for a graphics card leads me to either an ATI HD5570 or GeForce GT430. Both are at 1GB, DDR3 and a very slight difference in price.

I'm definitely gonna use this for some gaming and upon reading some threads ATI 5570 seems the common choice. However, nVidia seems to have a monopoly on PhysX (or so I heard) as well as game tie-ups so I'm quite bugged which to choose. Should I go for "hardware-wise" hence the ATI or is PhysX worth having on my system?

I'm also planning to replace the mobo so I'd appreciate if you also suggest between MSI 760GM-P33 and Asus M4N68T-M LE V2 along with the graphics card choice. Will I gain anything if I pair an ATI with an AMD chipset, GeForce with nForce chipset and vice versa?

Hope you can give me some insights on these questions, I'd really appreciate it. TIA guys!

I play almost anything really However, I'm really looking forward in playing Batman Arkham City; which is alos one of the reasons why PhysX looks so tempting right now. I'd be playing this on 1366x768 resolution, I'm not really fond of huge monitors since I also use this computer for my studies.

All things considering I wouldn't be worrying about Physx too much with that card as it isn't really fast enough to make use of it. Here is a benchmark of Batman AA with Physx disabled,

ASUS ENGT430 GeForce GT 430 1GB DDR3 Video Card Review - Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY - Legit Reviews

You won't be playing Batman AC at high settings at all, and if Physx is enabled it is likely to turn into a slideshow.

When looking at entry level cards it is better to look at things like power requirements, fan noise, price, etc; rather than something like Physx.

The 5570 shouldn't be too bad...The 430 may start stuttering when the action get hot & heavy, if you have just gotta have physx I would say get a 550 or better....

I'd go with the Radeon early and often.
