The price tag on an Alienware is insane. At the end of the day, all you're really paying for is the name: Alienware. You could match the performance for a fraction of the price... and that way, when all your gaming buddies ask about your rig, they won't snicker cause you won't have to tell them you got jacked.

He does not wish to build one and understands that it costs more from Alienware.

TBH as long as all the parts are compatible (and I'm sure the good folks on here can help you to get that right), building a PC is child's play. Anything that needs to be connected to the MB will be keyed to only fit the correct socket/slot and in the correct orientation.

No matter what you buy now it will be obsolete or another product will be able to do more. Keep in mind that this is a continual cycle and why people have learned to work on their own PC's. If you have taken the time to read up and learn how easy PC building is then you would not buy one already made. You obviously have taken the time to learn on the components as evident in your posts. You would also get step by step help here in this forum when needed. There are so many experienced PC builders here I know that many would be eager to offer any help you need. I feel most of the members here would simply rather you save that money to use on better components. I understand you know nothing about the insides but keep in mind that when each of us started that neither did any of us at first.
    The choice is yours!
Just know that you have friends here that are willing to help each other when ever and what ever that need may be, so you are never alone when it comes to help!
This is the benefit of being a part of a community online. We are all like family and nobody should feel embarrassed to ask for help no matter how simple or hard the task might be.

    Just a thought?
Eventually the warranty will run out and then what shall you do with the PC if you run into a problem then? When a new item comes out that you wish to have will you buy another PC? Or will you decide to simply get that item and install it?
