    lol!

i'm good for competition... but i don't quite believe it--yet. it's like a two prize fighters squaring off at each other before the fight--except the red camp already threw a k.o. punch! green team has to at least throw back a woof ticket, right? green team can't just stand there with a swollen jaw and bloody nose--he gotta say something to the people to let them know "hey, i'm still in the fight."

the stories i've been reading--without having inside info for someone inside green team (this info has been pulled straight from my tech forum where one of the members has been working for Nvidia since 97...... his credentials are well known, so this is probably gospel info....)--all read that the cards coming from green team will be "best case" right on par with ati's offerings and realistically about 5% slower.

    i'm with pizzaman--we'll see. :)
i must say...if the OP is correct, it'll be the first time EVER Nvidia will release a product more powerful at a cheaper price...

    GPU wars....love em

I don't really believe thats true. I just can't imagine nvidia making more powerful GPUs than ATI and then selling them cheaper, atleast not that much.

just thought of something else...... where they using dx11? because if not..... then well.... it might not be faster than the HD5800's... they could have just picked a dx that the 5800's had trouble with just to make the card look better..... just saying so we'll see,
if they can do that in dx11 then they have quite a feat pulled off, but the question is when the 5990 comes out would the fermi's still be on top?

Hmmm.... Cheaper 40nm chips? That too when both of 'em are struggling to get higher yields from that manufacturing process?

    Seems way fishy!

But hey, I would love to get my grubby little hands on a nice cheap piece of Fermi! Am still hesitant about going the ATI way.

I used to keep up with the graphics card wars, but at this point aren't PC graphics more than "good enough"? I want game designers to start focusing on gameplay and fun, rather than trying to max out hardware with ridiculous polygon counts and texture sizes. I spend more time playing emulated 1980s games on MAME than I do any games made after about 2006.

its probably a fake image, going by the driver revision....... but if legit, it wipes the floor with the 5970.
