well you might give that hotfix a go
Doesn't the 9.12 hotfix have the same content? This is confusing

And I'm almost sure thats not going to fix the driver corruption. none of the driver versions make a difference. The corruption doesn't seem to come from the drivers, but from windows, or the card.

Hey, thanks anyway for your help man, I appreciate it. But I know the driver isn't the problem (at least none of the current can make a difference), I've diagnosed that far.

For now, if I want to game with A.I. I'll just reinstall the drivers, its an impossible task to diagnose what corrupts what. I got that far today, and thats it, game over. But I thank you for your assistance and support, I respect the effort.

Yeah, just when I want to call it a day I see something strange in ATI overdrive.

While A.I. is enabled the frequency on the second core read 000Mhz for both core and memory with 0 activity.

And it cost 619 Euros, quite a lot.

Did a little research on the HD 5970

Seems that a common problem with this graphics card is it locking up on the desktop during normal use but not in games and OCing this card at all causes a LOT of problems without TONS of power available for it. (1600w or more)
I read this over & over again in the Newegg reviews on this card.

So my hunch is that it's a ATI graphics driver issue & nothing to do with W7 x64 at all.

With any luck the new v10 drivers will fix this problem.
A real pisser when you spent close to $800 for a vidcard!!!

Thanks for reminding me why I've been using Nvidia for years instead of ATI...ah the memories! (mostly bad with ATI graphics)

no, its not 2D issues. Drivers are corrupted instantly somehow. Otherwise I could just raise the 2D clocks. I'm afraid there's no easy way around this.

I had the same issues with nvidia though. I had 2x 8800gtx on a 790i ultra sli board, with 4gb corsair. SLI crashed into BSOD constantly. After weeks of research, and I mean whole days, I found out that there were issues with the 790i board, the memory needed more voltage, and on top of that one card broke down after two months. No person with a lack of that knowledge would be able to fix that.

I don't know better. I even expected the same when I was building this system, and it came true! Its like a nightmare that never ends

    Well DannyHvE,

Ending your post with a smiley is a clear indication that you haven't given up or you clicked the wrong smiley .

I have a DX48BT2. Read about that board. The mem that I have is Patriot Viper 1600. Intel says you can't run that mem at 1.5 volts. Well they are right. You have to run it at 1.9 and disable watchdog or will never boot. It is the worst board (for settings) that I have ever worked with. On top of that, I had a bad Sapphire card (last time I buy Sapphire) Swapped for an Asus 5850. Night and day my friend.

That laugh was an insanity laugh, its better than the alternative.

Yeah, I want to swap my card for an Asus. I wanted an Asus originally, but they were sold out in the entire Netherlands. I'm gonna have to see if I can return this one, but I'm dealing with a really bad supplier. Alternate.nl, they are in most of Europe. They make your life a living hell before they give in.
