Monitor Problem

Hello,

I recently went form Windows XP to Windows 7 and have had everything working perfectly fine untill now.

I have been using an LCD TV as an extra monitor for my Laptop which has now stopped rsponding to my PC. My PC recognizes the TV but the TV does nothing in response, just stays black and acts as if nothing is using it.

The thing I am worried about is if this is an issue the TV is facing, but all other devices plugged into it work, e.g xbox, so i'm guessing it isn't.

I am fairly certain this happened after I woke up early in the moring to turn off my PC as it was glaring at my face too early for my liking, and lacking the patience to shut it down orthodoxly I instead held the off button down untill it turned off.

I would very much appriciate any help received and am more than willing to supply any more information needed.

Thank-you.

Welcome!

Have you tried a System Restore to a point before the problem arose? System Restore

Well I tried and got an error after the reboot reporting that the system restore was unsuccessful, so I tried to restore to the point before the system restore which resulted in the same problem.
At this point I was quite clueless so I decided to re-install a clean version of Windows, which eventually I was pleased I did but not for the reason you are most likely speculating upon.
However, to make a long story short, the problem was the fault of my television, a DGM, which I unsurprisingly found out to be very unreliable, not surprising considering I bought it for 50.

Thanks for your reply. I hope this is informative for those with DGM products.

Peace, happiness, and joy to all.
