Graphic card driver for geforce 8400M GT GPU

    Hello,

My notebook is Sony Vaio(Model: VGN-FZ21E) with following specs:

    Intel® Core™2 Duo T7250 2.0GHz
    2GB/Go DDR2 SDRAM
    250GB/Go,
    15.4" WXGA 1280x800 X-black LCD,
    nVidia GeForce 8400M GT GPU
    Windows 7 professional

I have just downloaded the right driver for my graphic card from nvidia website. When I tried to install, this message appear:

"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"

I am really appreciate if someone is looking forward to solve this. thanx in advanced

    Download Driver sweeper:

Make sure you uninstall the old drivers first from Programs and Features.

In fact, look at Device Manager and let me know what it says under Display Adapter.

Sony may have given the graphics device a custom ID. See:

Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21E Graphics Card problem

It looks like Sony hasn't posted Win7 drivers for the laptop's graphics. You could try the Vista ones.

I can't recall the approach I followed, but I may have had a similar problem with my Compaq laptop (8200M graphics). The drivers I'm using now are from Windows Update.

I already e-mailed sony vaio but they havent replied my e-mail. I guess that they still don't have that driver for windows 7. I have installed the driver from the vista in my windows 7 and it seems working, but when i play game sometime a black screen will appear for around 10 secs and the return to normal. it irritates me so much..

You need the manufacturer's drivers - otherwise you can try modifying desktop graphics.
