    Graphics Card Dissappeared!

Hi Guys, thanks in advance for any help!

I've just Done a clean install of windows 7 from Vista; on a Dell Inspiron 1720. I tried to play a DVD, but windows media player came up with
'Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because it is not possible to turn on analog copy protection on the output display. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.'

have done all winows updates, the Video Card (It was either an ati or a nvidia or something) does not show up at all in the Device manager Window, where all the other drivers are all reporting they are up to date.
I did the Windows 'Rate your computer Performance' thing, and it gave me a 1 for both graphics and gaming graphics; it's normally 4 point something. Going through the dell website for my laptop did no help; any downloads they gave me just said there wern't any drivers for me.
My screen is displaying as it did back on Vista.

Thanks so much for any help you guys can think of.
    Cheers

You need the drivers for your graphics card.
Try and see if Everest will pick it up
Lavalys - Comprehensive IT Security and Management

If that fails, ring Dell and see if they can give you the info.

Try the drivers video on this page

Managed to find the drivers, thanks a lot.

For anyone else with the same problem, it can also be fixed by downloading an earlier version of windows media player (classic is a good option, google it). The older player dosen't check the Analogue Copy Protection as new players do.

Thanks alot for the help Minotaur.
