The XPS One is essentially a the same as an iMac, everything built-in to the monitor, and built using laptop components.

The rest I can replace, I.E. wireless Nic, video etc.
You might be able to change the video card,

but good luck finding one, and if you do don't choke on the price of them.

Even if you could find one for sale it isn't worth the hassle and expense,

I know I can upgrade the video card but from what I have seen it would have to be Nvidia 9M series. I was looking at the 9800M GTS. Anyway, I will have to find out what motherboard is on this thing. Cannot find any documentation to the Dell site. I will have to take it apart see what it is. Maybe that will help.

Save yourself the trouble, unless you want to basically pay through the nose for one. It isn't like you can walk into just any computer store and buy a laptop video card. As far as the 9800M GTS I managed to find one so far on ebay,

Nvidia 512MB GeForce 9800M GTS Video Card on eBay.ca (item 110456079209 end time 08-Feb-10 11:48:48 EST)

for the small gain to be had over what you already have, it isn't worth it.

Did you ever find a resolution to this problem?

I had the same issue when I upgraded to Windows 7 32-bit a few months ago. I even found a thread that talked about this issue and gave instructions on which Nvidia driver to download and how to manually modify the INF file so it would be recognized for this hardware. Unfortunately, after doing all that successfully, I still had the same problems.

The screen would go black every few minutes followed by a recovery message-- it got very annoying and I ended up going back to Vista. I'd really like this to get resolved and I'm getting mad at Dell for not fully supporting this high-end machine on Windows 7. We really like it and use it as our only TV in the house but this issue is very troubling. I'm trying to be patient, waiting for Dell to provide a driver that works but the longer I wait, the less likely it seems.

COME ON DELL, PROVIDE A DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 7 THAT WORKS ON THE XPS ONE A2420!!!!

I work in software development so I can and will influence others and my high regard for Dell is dropping rapidly.

Yes, I did resolve the problem. I had to modify the Nvidia .inf file. I am currently running Windows 7 64bit with the latest Nvidia driver for my 9600M GT. I will be glad to show you how but need to find out what your system board hardward ID number is. Mine is 90131043.
