I would really like some help with this. I have the 9600M GT and the driver that's installed is from 9/27/09. Crazy. I can't believe Dell didn't do a little compatibility with Win7, especially 64bit since these ship with 4GB RAM.

I have the same issue of getting the hardware not recognized error when I grab the latest Win7 64bit version from the Nvidia site. And lately, I've been having a checkerboard show up on my screen which requires a full restart along with some black screens with a recovery back to desktop.

Can someone either post the fix or send it to me via private message?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to SevenForums coloradoguy
You can download the latest driver for your card from Nvidia Only this time use the desktop version 9600gt Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Then you can use this program to modify the.inf file NVIDIA MobilityModder
Download the modder tool at the bottom of the page.
Follow the instructions on how to modify the driver for window seven.
Once you have used the mod tool the driver should install.

Please post back with the results or for further help.
    Thanks. Fabe

Yes, I did resolve the problem. I had to modify the Nvidia .inf file. I am currently running Windows 7 64bit with the latest Nvidia driver for my 9600M GT. I will be glad to show you how but need to find out what your system board hardward ID number is. Mine is 90131043.
i would really like help with this, if you could email me
deaconfan34@gmail.com or on here that would be great.
