How to fix screen res

For some reason after I updated from vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit, the videos are tiny. Even when I change the screen res, the videos still remain small and that just blurs the text basically. Is there ways to change the screen res on IE or something to make videos and websites default? I don't like when there is a ton of background on each side of the screen either. I've tried changing the res and the text res on windows 7, but that doesn't work. Right now my screen res is at 1680x1050. I mean it looks pretty, but everything on the computer is tiny. How do I make things larger without sacrificing quality in imagery?

Check for a newer Display driver. Start at your computer maker's Support Downloads page for your model, then research the make/model of the chip or video card and look on the maker's support Downloads page for that chip or card. Also check Windows Updates as there might be a newer Display driver cued up already.

You load these drivers in the Device Manager Display driver tab>Update driver. Try auto updater, then browse to the location where you have unzipped the driver to load it on Browse tab. The drivers can be rolled back on the Driver tab. They will all be stored in Driver>Update Driver>Browse>Let Me Choose.

Click on "tools" and under "toolbars" select "menu bar".
Menu bar should now show near top.
On "menu bar" click "view" and then "zoom".

Can also use "Ctrl +"

I tried that. It doesn't work. I mean yes control + the scroll wheel does make it bigger, but it also distorts it to a huge ammount.
