    Crossfire 5850 LAG/Poor Performance

I'm noticing poor performance on my 5850s

Mobo: MSI USA ? Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

    System Specs:
    AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2bhz 6mb L3 cache
    Windows 7 (6.1) Ultimate Edition (Build 7600)

    RAM : 6144 MB DDR3 Dual Channel
    RAM Speed : 668.9 MHz (3:10) @ 9-9-9-24

The Ram thing has me confused as my mobo supported up to 2133mhz, my ram is 1800mhz.

Can the ram be the problem?

It also appears that I have 8x/8x for both slots :[

if its x8 for both slots that could be your problem, um.... which drivers do you have? and have you tried a memtest?

it appears from the mobo specs that there are two x16 slots and two x8 slots-- if you're reading two x8, then you may have the cards in the wrong slots. i'm taking a shot in the dark, but my thought is that the two x16 slots are the top two.

your board may support 2133mhz and to get there, you'll have to overclock your ram. someplace in your bios will be the section to allow you mess with your clocks and voltage and you'll need to make the necessary adjustments there.

I jsut got hte latest drives 10.1 I think. Came out today. I have them in the x16 slots. Its PCIE-1 and PECI- E4 thats why they give you the longer crossfire cables w/ the mobo

goto memtest site, download iso, boot from iso

windows has a memory diagnostic also. start button, type memory in the search bar, and Windows Memory Diagnostic will be under Programs in the search results

where did you see that your cards are in x8 slots?

The MSI board comes with longer cables because of the layout of PCI-E Slots.

It was in the 8x. However, these frames are getting terrible. I mean for some reason 100 FPS looks like crap, completely choppy. pixels are large and all messed up.

I did a memory test, I let it run for 30 minutes. No Fails.

I just watch the frame rates drop, also computer did a random restart today.

Sometimes I see the walls in the game without textures. (The lines that make up the wall, etc. if it makes sense.

I play 1900x1200 ALL HIGH SETTINGS. IT WAS RUNNING GREAT BEFORE CROSSFIRE.
