lol. I just said a new driver would be coming soon. and it gets released the NEXT Day. lol haha that is great.
I'm currently on the Vista 182.50 as the Win 7 185 driver was not working right for me in Win 7.
After a few of you try the new Win 7 WHQL driver will you let me know how it performs for you. and if good I think I'll give it a try.
yup.. Thanks. I just downloaded. will try in a minute.
I just tried playing a few games. and after about 30 mins I got NV titled crashes that went to BSOD's. so I'm happy there is now a WHQL driver. I'll give it a try and hopefully things work better.
Thanks!
Update.. the new Nvidia 185.85 WHQL Driver has brought back my problems..
If you did not have any problems with the last Win 7 Driver. this new Signed driver will probably work perfect for you. So don't take my post as a reason to not use the WHQL. but some people are having problems with the Win 7 drivers and there GFX. and I am one of them.
on the last NV Win 7 driver 185.50 right clicking on desktop took about 3 seconds and my 260's were not Downclocking to 2D. I changed and went to the latest Vista 64 182.50 drivers and all those problems went away.
Now with the new WHQL Win 7 Driver my Cards are not going to 2D Mode. eVGA Precision is reading my Memory at 1188 instead of stock 999. and NO overclock will change the readings. So I'm not sure if it's reading it wrong. or it's not working. And now when I right click on my desktop to hit refresh, or enter the NV Control panel. It takes more like 5 seconds for it to come. So it got worse.
Back to the Vista 64 182.50 driver for me for now! ;(
sorry to hear that Gunther....... i get the same with the BETA 185.86 on W7, it will not throttle...
but on vista the same drivers will throttle , so its starting to annoy me now i cant locate the actual cause, i thought it was the drivers themselves ....some throttle, some dont, but i have varying results with the same driver..??
who knows.......you thought it would of been a simple fix.
:)SK
Just to confuse everybody, I also tried both Win7 and Vista 185 WHQL. Win 7 gave no throttle down in 2D mode, and had a long responsetime in contex-menu.
Vista 185 WHQL do throttle down in 2D, but _still_ has long responstime in contex-menu.
Win 7 driver(s) not throttling down, can it be, that it try to HWacc. the aerostyle, and there fore the graphic card thinks it is in a 3D acc. situation?
Installed 185.85s over 181s and re ran wei and lost 1 point. They also would not run undercover. Gone back to 181s re ran wei and gained 2points wtf.
Well. We can all expect this.. Everything is not just going to be perfect for everyone. There both still BETA's. even though it's NV WHQL.. it's still on a beta windows. We will have problems and they will slowly work them selves out.
Right now I don't have any driver installed for GFX. lol. I need to install before I do anything though.
I guess I'll be going back to the Vista x64 driver.
and skunk, there isn't a 185.86 is there? I thought it was 185.85
maybe I'll try the Vista 185.85 instead of the Win 7 one.
i just went to download my drivers trouble is i cant find my card its a 7800gt and thats not listed a gs and gtx are but not gt anybody know which one i should download???
