I'm beginning to think the same way but I haven't tried these drivers with games yet. Might give them a go tonight and then decide whether to stay with them or not.

    Thanks for your help, John

the 190.xx drivers are great gamers......., i get great frames with them on ALL games, but this 2D down-clock issue is really annoying.

here's my clocks as of now with the 190.40 drivers...

the GPU is pretty hot.. at least 8-10c hotter than the 185 drivers, while idle.

they should bring out a new revision soon, i'll hold out till then

Hi Skunk. Is that 50c after gaming or just at idle? Just looked at mine, I've been watching TV on my pc, and it's sitting at 44c. This hasn't really changed from the 185 drivers.
Still haven't had a gaming session. Just knackered tonight. Hope it isn't swine flu.

    Cheers,J

Just thought, the clocks look like a medical emergency drama

Yes it does, they have changed the slider scale for it however. The default is now 50% and you adjust it up or down from there. As you know in the past it started at "0".

Just found another problem with the new Beta driver, I have not been gaming and I was just reading the thread and was wondering about the power management, anyway I didn't find any problem with that but I did notice my GPU temp was 25c higher then usual so I checked precision and I always have the fan set on Auto and it sits on 40% on idle, only now for some reason it was not going at all so I manually set it back to 40% and temps dropped again from 74c t0 50c.

So if anyone is using 190.40 Beta drivers, check your temps and your fan speed, I think I will go back to using 190.38 WHQL drivers for now and hopefully that will fix the problem.

Good catch Grimm. I haven't tried the 190.40's yet and I guess I'll skip those as well.

Also, as long as I have your attention, do you know why my Sig is not showing up? It's under 600x100 and 45k. Do you have to have a certain number of posts? Thanks for your time.
