If anyone gets bizarre behaviour in their Vista x64 sfter installing this would you let me know please? (Before I start complaining in the nVidia Forums that is....!)
Although my Win 7 boots seem to be OK, my C: drive...Vista Ultimate x64 #1 started flashing on and off uncontrollably just after I opened up the browser and I was forced to do a hard reboot. Have since restored in Safe Mode to before this driver was installed in both my Vista's (C: and D: ).
Am waiting to see what happens in Windows 7 in the long term.
The only clue I can find in the Event Viewer is "The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because WDDM is not in use"
I will look further but have an errand to do for the next little while. Will advise.
Hello Brink,
There is a post thread that you may be interested in. I think that I found a bug in either Windows 7 or Nvidia, the way the power goes into sleep mode.
When computer goes to sleep graphics card overheats - Page 2 - Windows 7 Forums

Hi All
I just installed the latest x64 drivers (196.21) for my EVGA 295 GTX and all seems to be fine except that I cannot increase the memory or core clocks any more .. the sliders work but immediately I apply the new settings they revert to standard clocks. The link button for the core and shader clock is also greyed out .. anyone have any ideas .. I am using the latest precision also. By the way I cleaned out the old drivers before installing the new ones using Drive Sweep.
