It looks like you have 7-Zip set up to open that type of file and it doesn't recognize it by the looks of it, try removing the 7-zip association or uninstall it.

    Hi Montrey,

See if restoring the default ZIP association in Windows 7 may help. This tutorial is for Vista, but it is the same.

    Hope this helps,

I am getting the same "this is not a 7Zip archive" when running an .exe??? I gave up....although I did get the Nvidia control panel out of the deal. I can use the "digital vibrance" feature I like so much. The driver itself will not install. The new beta 4-2-09.

A day later.....I still have the same problem. If anyone has the solution, let me know. I have never used 7Zip in my life on any computer so it's not file association (i don't think)

If someone is having this problem with the "non 7 Zip archive" error, I found a way to get around it. Activate your "hidden admin account"

    Administrator Account - Vista Forums

It works in Windows 7 too. Then download the driver with IE (not Chrome) I don't know what made the difference....the account or the download with IE.

Then install the driver from the "hidden administrator account" when it's installed...de-activate the account.

This worked for me and I am now running the latest drivers on Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64. (181.71 on 4-6-09) Hope this helps someone.

If anyone can tell me what made the difference...the admin account or IE...let me know.

You didn't by chance download the driver from the Chrome browser did you? I have a sneaky feeling that does not work on Windows 7 using the Chrome beta. Just a guess. I read another post on a forum about a person with the same exact problem I had. Live and learn.
