    Radeon HD 4890 !


    Hi i have just put together my pc all going ok but i am getting to many blue screens fot my liking ! i think its down to my graphics card i just had a look at my drives the only thing i can see is that i am running directx 9 and i know that card likes 10.1 what do you lot think could this be my reason for my blue screens ?

    - run dxdiag, this will show the version number..

    - the 10.1 update of CCC will show DirectX as Version 11, and the 4890 is capable of using it..

    DirectX has nothing to do with the version. Your card will use whatever the app is built for or if you adjust it - like Far Cry 2 in DirectX 10. Run Memtest86+, chkdsk and Prime 95 to determine if it is hardware. Defrag before running the hard disk check. You can also try Seagate Seatools.

    And what ATI driver version are you using? Also in device manger do you have any problem devices, ones with yellow triangels next to them? For your BSOD's you could RAR and post your mini dump file so we could take a look at it also Thanks. Fabe
