usually monitors do have drivers. (AFAIK). Drivers are usually not required, but if the monitor has features that are not usually seen, the driver dictates communication with these features. so you might want to search for the brand by name online.
also getting numbers like the serial number or product number on the back of the monitor might turn up results while the name doesn't as a manufacturer might have it listed differently in inventory.
Windows 7 is easy!
hold down the windows button (the flag), than press "P"
it gives you 4 options (computer only, extend, duplicate, projector only)
