Some crazy setups there, Mine is a very simple loop ATM, just the CPU although I would love to put it through the Video card and chipset as well, especially the northbridge chipset as it has a very noisy little fan on it ATM which is louder then anything else in the computer plus there is some crazy heat that comes of the northbridge and SLI chipset, so much so that you wouldn't want to leave your finger on there for any period of time.
...but then you look at that picture and start thinking is heat and noise really that bad? ,lol

When I start looking at some of those water cooling setups, all I can hear in my head is "DO WANT! DO WANT DO WANT!"
Looks like a really unnecessarily complex setup. My watercooling setup is much cleaner.
wow,that's an interesting assessment-especially since i'm sitting in my living room with a w/c'd htpc,and the only thing you can hear is the hard drive when it seeks. in case you're wondering,that's a q6600 (oc'd to 3.6) ,as well as an 8000gt in the same loop,cooled by THREE 120mm fans on a triple mount radiator. when you have three large fans running,you would almost never need to have them running at top speed-you undervolt them to 7 or 9 volts,and voila,quiet computing.my god......., now that looks like a complex loop.....
z3r010 (john) is looking to go with WC ..... but if im brutally honest these WC setups are really for staunch OCers..... having the rad & reservoir bolted to the case will do NOTHING to lower sound levels.... it will probably increase it with 3x 120mm fans strapped to it...
john...... if you wanna go with this for ''noise reduction'', you'll need to elongate the tubing & have the rad in another room, or hanging out the window..
& even then that 1200w PSU will take over the noise lost by HSFs on the cards, CPU & chassis fans...IMO

your statement is especially ridiculous considering that water cooling has been the top solution for quiet home theater pc's for at least 5 years now. i don't think i've ever seen a comment claiming wc a pc is "noisy".
edit: in addition,i'm using a seasonic 600w power supply,and the fan is inaudible from more than a foot away.

Although I am not going ot be as harsh about is as Jamima, I have toagree - my buddy has an OC'd WC'd HTPC and it is quiet as a ...feather.

its hardly a ''ridiculous'' assessment though is it, its logical to assume (for example) that if replacing an 80 - 90mm HSF, 2x 40mm GPU fans, & a chassis fan with a loop connected to a rad with 3x 120mm fans on it, its gonna be just as audiable ..??, obviosly not..
& my HX620 is far from silent, so (for instance) its also logical to also assume a 1200w PSU wont be silent either..

While water cooling is fine for overclocked machines, and the like, I've always been under the impression that a simple media center machine, or audio production PC really doesn't need to be overclocked, so it doesn't need water cooling.
There are fans and cases out there that make PC noise almost non-existent for purposes such as this. It would be ludicrous to go through the setup for water cooling on a system that only needs it because it has to be run silent.
I can barely hear my media center PC running by itself, much less over the sound system when I'm watching a movie. As for mixing, it's the same difference, although my mics are through a wall from where my PC and mixing board is.
My gaming system makes a lot of noise, but in the case of gaming, who cares.
Water cooling is for overclock fanatics, where it can remove the heat much more quickly and much more efficiently than air movement. But for any other reason, it's ridiculous to even bother.
