Windows 7: ATI HD 5770 is Hell on Earth

That's what I'm starting to believe, either that or different batches/manufacturers have faults or made a mistake, or maybe the motherboard has something to say about all this. Overall I don't know anything about whats going on with everyone elses.

Also my friend in crossfire, his are Asus.

But then once upon a time a girl I know in England orders a single Sapphire HD5870 and, same problems as described, artefact-ng and many other problems. =/ and her PC is a brand new Intel build.

Pretty mysterious.

As for your other issues with the card, definitely check airflow and that it's adequate and equalized, check for the latest driver or it's a defaulty card.

even for blu ray movies?? i don't think so

even so, this card cant convert this to fill the screen like it's supposed to?

then it has to be something with the sub-vendors..... hm.... does each sub-vendor have drivers on its site?

A quick look reveals that they do..but I'm pretty sure they are just the ones from the ATI/AMD website anyways.

UK website says so anyways.
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
although the UK site doesnt have the exact one with the cooler mine has.
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
Swedish one does..Although the download/driver area for this site uses the English
API...Driver versions amongst all the cards is no different.

Still, its stupid to accuse the sub-vendors, yet not so stupid at the same time.

Sapphires site has multiple drivers even for one type, but I can't clarify this.

well when you think about it, all ati does is develop the chip and distribute it to the sub-vendors and make drivers for it

I'm going hell, I know it!
Just spent half a day getting rid of Vundo.H trojan on a PC at work. No virus scans run for 8+ months. IE temp folder took 3 minutes to empty. After a half dozen scans with NOD32, MalwareBytes, and MS MRT I stopped getting an infection warning. Had our outside gurus take it anyway and pull the HD...

I just read (on Winsupersite.com) that the pre order/upgrades will NOT have a clean install option. This is outrageous. Does MS have no clue as to the goodwill re Win 7 has garnered them but how something exactly like this could destroy that? I have personally suggested to @ least 50 people to...
