no... the 8800GT is a great card for 1680x1050 & below, 1920x1200 is a little much for this card, but still more than capable of holding its own with modern GFX.

You would have this guy discard a perfectly good 8800GT in favor of a rough 10% increase in performance... that's not very logical and to begin with his issue is that after W7 he is noticing decrease in performance when things should be around the same as they were previously which lead him to question the drivers
there's no shader differences between the 8800GT & 9800GT, the only difference is TriSLI (on the 9800) :)

The 8800GT is still a great card, even if it becomes an ancestor (two and a half years old).
Btw Nvidia 9 series GPU are the biggest joke I have ever seen (9600GT = 8800GT / 9800GTX = 8800 Ultra).
Now for the GTS250: it's a good middle-end card, quite better than a 8800 but not 50% more!
In order to make a comparison, here is the score of my 8800GT through 3DMark Vantage: 5449 pts whereas a 5850 gets about 10300 pts. Does a GTS250 worth a 5850? I'm not sure of that..

Poor SSD performance

Poor computer conditions = poor gaming performance?
First off, I didn't know whether to post this in gaming or hardware. Sorry. My question: If there is dust on the videocard and fans or other poor condtions in my computer, can it affect performance in gaming? FPS wise? Thanks, Andrew.

Poor graphics performance on one of two displays
Hello everyone. I've a strange problem, solution to which I couldn't find anywhere on the net, nor could I solve it myself to this point. Short version: after messing with power saving options, my notebook's LCD is stuck in some kind of lower-performance graphics mode, whereas an external...

Poor Performance from 32bit to 64 bit Graphics
I just made the switch to Windows 7 64 bit and I must admit I do like it much better. An interesting problem I have noticed though is that my graphics 3D Gaming subscore dropped from a 6.9 to a 2.0, which doesn't make sense. I have an ATI Radeon 4850 with the latest catalyst 9.6, and I cannot...

Best graphics driver for 8800GT 512mb card?
I'm not exactly sure on how you check what driver version you have? But what's the best one to have from Nvidia for Windows 7 for build 7264 and up?
