nVidia Driver Update & the Windows Experience

I recently (re)installed a GTX260 video card in my system and loaded the nVidia 195.62 driver package. I then went into The Windows Experience and refreshed. Video scores were 7.2 - nice.
After that I noticed that there was a newer nVidia driver out - 196.21. I installed that. I then noticed in System Properties the note that I had installed new hardware and should refresh The Windows Experience. Did that. Now my video score is 7.0!
    What!?

Just now I see that we have 196.34 - bug fix for overclocking GPU. Which I don't do (manually). Any relationship to above?

About right. Catalyst 10.1 drivers lowered my Vantage score by a bit less than 500 marks.

The WEI program is know to be fickle I wouldn't read to much into it. If your really concerned run a real graphic benchmarking Program like Futuremark CPU and 3dMark06 Grahic. Here is little more information on their site Futuremark And a place to download trial versions of this software http://downloads.guru3d.com/

No, not that concerned. More like amused. I was wondering if WEI is interactive and my video card had been downgraded from "fairly good" to "average"!
