    O.o

what do u mean i wont see any improvements with the new graphic card, my monitor resolution is 1680X1080, but ill definitely c a resolution, becuase the current graphic card i have is a Nvidida GeForce GT 8600, and i need to minimize the screen to 780X480 in order to play games at decent graphic, i talked to my uncle and he works for computers and micrsoft, he a software developer and he said the only thing that you wont benifit of having a low resolution is that you wont me pushing the graphic cards to its full potiential, you wont be pushing it to the limit, but is that really necessary? all i want it to do is max out all my games and play with smoother fps, and i should be getting that becuase if the 5970 could max out game at resolution in 2580X1420 it should at my resolution, also i cant build a computer becuase if i attempt to and screw up or get somthing thats incompatible with somthing else then i just lost a whole bunch of money.. also if somthing goes wrong inside of the computer i wont have any warranty and am almost certain that i cant fix it, and whats with this cpu problem? you guys are saying i need a x58 motherboard with 3.4 ghz processor but i ama buy it from alienware and a screen pops up if i take somthing incompatible so i doubt there isnt going to be any problems, basically ama buy dual ati radeon 5970's becuase am not planning to buy another computer for another 6-7 years ( if thats even possible) i dont wanna have a huge resolution monitor so i can push the cards to the limit and see its real power i just wanna max out my games in graphics and have fast frame rates per second so it would go nice and smooth, and ama gonna purchase xeno killer pro to help with the frame rates, really appreciate your concern please keep on replying to veiw any other ideas, that comes helpfull to me, Thanks

How about some punctuation? Reading your last post my face turned purple!

Other members have given you their advice and you still dont seem to get the point....2 5970s will "max out" your 1680x1050 res for sure BUT youre wasting your money by doing so. By your mentality, why not game at 800x600? Because the quality would be shite!

I and other members are simply saying a 30" will be a FAR more satisfying experience. The CPU recommendation is because you may get a CPU bottleneck.

If you cant listen to advice from members, why ask at all?

Do what u and your uncle says and be done with it!

Why the big deal as not many games run DX11 or can use the benefits of either the two cards?

..Well suggesting money grows on trees, of course two is better than one ? Why would you ask that ? Trusting you can support it. Which I doubt you can.

And you do realize the 5970 is practically two cards in one ? And is worth more than my ex ?

The 5970 is the best choice as for what is out there now and that is because it is the newest bad boy card on the market. If you want to run two then by all means get two. As far as lasting two years or so more, you might want to consider that both graphics manufacturers are always coming out with new cards every few months. I think that is what some other members might be hinting at when they ask questions.
Nobody here wishes to be disrespectful or challenge what you wish to do with your PC. I would ask that if you ask a question by starting a thread that you would be open minded to the feedback you get.

Either card will be the top notch for now, the 5970 being in my opinion the better of the two.

    Hey there,

Not to brag, but have you looked at my specs? I run 2 5970s and my advice to you is based on my experience/frustrations!

Dual 5970s may not scale well in some applications. Having said that in general a dual setup is great.

Go for a dual 5970 setup (I think you made up your mind a LONG time before posting).

And btw, dont come out with "Its my money, I do what I want with it" attitude. Members are trying to help YOU! Remember, YOU asked US!

    Good Luck.

currently ati seems to be kicking butt in the graphics card market. that could change with the new fermi cards by nvidia due in april, but then again there is ALWAYS something better coming out in a few months.

a 5970 will perform like CRAP @ 1680x1050, this is a ''high end'' card designed for ''high end'' resolutions, the low res will bottleneck the raw power it has.

1920x1200 is the lowest you'd wanna be running with that card.

    just FYI :)
