    Video question - Win7U/GA-MA785GM-US2H

Since I installed 7 for the first time along with a new MB I'm not quite sure if this is OS related.

My "Power Plan" is set to the default of Balance which is monitor off in 10 minutes and sleep in 1 hour. Screen resolution is set to 1280x960. If I return after a short period of time (less than 1 hour) and have to wake just the display everything is normal. If the time lapse is more than an hour and I have to wake the entire computer I find my display has switched to 1024x768. To fix this I have to visit my notification area and simply right click on the ATI icon and it switches back to 1280x960. Sound like an OS or video driver concern?

I did install the latest driver from the Gigabyte website. One interesting note is that in my notifications area it has 2 ATI video listings in the menu (pic attached) but in the device manager it does list only one adapter (pic attached). Not sure yet as I'm still researching but am assuming for now that the second instance in the notification area could possibly be for a dual monitor setup (which I don't have).

    Any thoughts appreciated!

    Try the this one instead,

    https://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-c...ndows-7-a.html

that driver from Gigabyte is ancient all things considering (from August of last year).

The card showing twice in the tray menu is normal, one for each for two of the three outputs the card can use (no more than two at a time). Think of it as primary and secondary connections/monitors, whether the second it use or not.

    Thanks a bunch stormy13!

Figured I had the latest driver so wasn't sure where next to turn. Actually posted this in the "General" forum (they moved it for me ), had I come here first it's likely I'd have seen the big ol' sticky and given it a try. Note to self - Must limit knee-jerk reactionary postings!

Seems AMD's site is down at the moment. Will give it a try later and post results in a day or two.

    Appreciative!

*EDIT* -- Thanks for verifying my assumption about the two instances i the tray menu.

    Got it!

Downloaded and installed. If I don't follow-up beyond this post we can assume the driver update has taken care of my concern.

Btw, if you didn't catch my "edit" above (you're so efficient at follow-ups that you even beat my almost instant edit!)...Thanks for verifying my assumption about the two instances in the tray menu.

    Again, much appreciate your assistance!
