    Monitor refresh rate prob

My Win 7 installation causes "hide modes this monitor can't display" to not hide the modes (the option is checked, but even then it shows the higher refresh rates my monitor doesn't support). My monitor is old, and in win 7 some games try to up the refresh rate when my monitor doesn't support them! The result is no display but all the sounds!!!

check with your monitor manufacturer to see if there's an icc color profile available
this should sync your monitor with the OS..

I don't think that they'll have customer support for so old a monitor!

Is the monitor recognized properly in Device Manager?

If not, I don't know whether Win7 will use it, but you could try the monitor .inf file for the 105E:

    Free Software Downloads - Philips 105E (105E1) - Drivers:rivers - Simtel.net

    (These date from 2000.)

To use, unzip the file. Go to the Driver tab for the monitor in Device Manager, and do a manual update.

My monitor is being recognised as generic non-pnp monitor. not by name!
