There are two advantages to the GTX 480.
1. Tessellation - Double the performance of ATI cards.
2. GPGPU Functionality - Not the most important thing for most normal users though, especially if all you're looking for is a graphics card.
Nvidia move your assssssssssssss......Im happy with my 1gb gts 250 it does everything i want it to do,,just dx 11 interest me
Yupp, who needs fully functioning drivers anyway? Well, Nvidia has that side covered a lot better than ATI, since i've never had a single driver problem with all my Nvidia cards. On the other hand, you can look at this tread: ATI HD 5770 is Hell on Earth
one of the reviews for the listing
Pros: Owned this for over a five years now. Lots of fun. I bought this GeForce MX 440 for less than $100!
Cons: Some buggy games won't run, claim something about those "shaders" missing. Also crappy Vista and Windows 7 look fuzzy on it
Other Thoughts: Runs well original Quake and Unreal, as well as any DOS game you can think of.
Please, hold that opinion. What features are going into the 480? All the features that are in current ATI cards. So who's trying to squeeze too much into a card. Not to mention that ATI right now has the fastest card on the market, and if the leaked 480 specs are correct, ATI will be having the fastest card on the market for the next year.
