    ATI / NVIDIA query.....

ok i have i quick question which is niggling me, lets see if anyone has an answer :)

right, im running NV & ATI drivers so i can utilize physX on the primary ATI card, a new physX revision was released with the latest NV offering, now im wondering if i can update the physX driver without having to re-patch the main video drivers..??

or is the patch specific to the physX driver..??

it was a real nightmare getting these 2 cards to play nicely & i dont want to send myself back to square 1 if the update removes the patch..??

if no one has a definite answer i'll just leave it as it is......

Until users on other forums try it, I'd leave well enough alone for the time being.

So your using ATI and a Nvidia card, do they get along together ok, do you open up the case sometimes and see they have been scrapping again LOL

Have you tried the standalone Physx patch? I've used the standalone patches a couple of times when I didn't want to upgrade the driver and it didn't say anything about the driver being out-of-date.

ive got the standalone physX patch here, i was gonna install it, im just dreading loosing physX with the update...

ive asked in a few places & have been (strangely) told there is no patch required ..???

i find that odd, i may try the standalone installer, im certainly steering clear of their latest vid driver

I would wait. Otherwise I would go for a MSI Big Bang motherboard and both cards will work together with the Hydra chip.

Create a restore point - if it works, leave it. If it doesn't - use the restore point.
