Win7 thinks my 22" monitor is 17"! Resolution Probs!
Guys,
I recently purchased a new Windows 7 HP computer and intended to use my Acer AL2216W (22" widescreen) monitor with it. The monitor worked fine on my XP PC, at it's native 1680x1050 res. Now i get this new Win7 PC and it can't figure out the resolution.. It's not offering me the 1680x1050, the closest i can get is 1600x1200.... THe PC didn't come with a graphics crad, it's just using onboard intel graphics, however, since this monitor is having probs i've hooked up my wife's monitor, which is an acerx213h (native res 1920x1280) and it works fine and when that monitor is hooked up, Win7 even gives me the 1680x1050 option, although that looks funny on that monitor.
when i right click and do the screen resolution change thing, the control panel says my display is a 17" LCD Monitor when the 22" Acer AL2216W is hooked up...
i've downloaded the drivers, and when i have the 2216W hooked up, and i right click on my PC to manage it the device manager properly IDs each montior correctly (AL2216W and X213H)... Any tips here??
i'm using the VGA connectors, not the DVI.
thanks!
