Thinkpad X300 upgraded window 7 monitor dead

I upgraded 1 week ago everything was working well until this morning. Notebook is connected to external monitor HP. While I was working on external monitor notebook screen started to flicker. I saw it died on me. In this forum seaching for solutions.

    1. I have updated all my thinkpad software compliance to Window 7 as I typed this.
    2. I will try uninstalling display adapter after I post this - 1 of the suggestion I read.
    3. I will unplug everything from my notebook and reboot - 1 of the suggestion I read.

I shall see whether the above works. Wish me luck.

    Good luck!

If that doesn't work, I would suspect it is a hardware issue.

Yes it is. Inverter blew. Can you recommend where I can get one on line?

That I can't say. You may want to follow this thread: https://www.sevenforums.com/general-d...-inverter.html

When one gets answered, they both do.

I must confess I did not even know what an inverter was. I learned something today!
