I say the ATI 5770 as it works great with all games at highest settings and have had no probs with my XFX XXX edition.

good choice, you can't go wrong with the 5770. The 10.3 drivers have been running perfectly for me since they were released, so no worries there.

    Good luck!

    thank you! good to know!
actually i got a little more money, so i re-evaluated my choices and just ordered MSI R5770 HAWK

XFX got only 1 year warranty here and MSI 3 years. so choice is no brainier

Difficult choice. The GTX probably outclass easily the 5770, however it is directx 10 only... I would wait a couple months if I was you.
Nothing uses DX11 anyways, so it's a moot point at this time.

Windows 7 would not have a big difference using DX 11 vs 10.
Though I know a lot of new games will have DX11, and I did see some recent videos of DX10 vs 11, and there is a scary big difference (as in 3d effects), and I was surprised. I can only hope that my new card will be sufficient for now, or that I can get DX11 with it when it becomes common.

    great choice.

I've had the MSI R5770 Hawk for a little over a month and its performed like a champ. It's quieter and cooler than most reference cards, even if you don't want to oc it. But if you do, Afterburner (Riva Tuner) and Kompressor (Furmark) will allow to reach 1000 mhz core and 1400 mhz memory pretty easily. I've been running 1008 core and 1408 mhz mem with no issues.

    once again, good luck

some games do use DX11 such as DIRT 2 and a few others so not just windows 7 uses it and there are more and more games being built for DX11 and crysis 2 is supposed to have DX11 in built as well. so its good for future proofing
