    WOW!

    And this statement. Double WOW!

XFX have always developed the most powerful, versatile Gaming weapons in the world - and have just stepped up to the gaming plate and launched something spectacular that may well literally blow the current NVIDIA offerings clean away,
    That's interesting.

So thats how it is. I remember XFX starting making ATI cards and i heard NV was not happy so they denied XFX from the GTX 400 series cards.

    Uhhh...did you read the article?

Amidst the launch of GeForce GTX 400 series, XFX did what could have been unimaginable a few months ago: abandon NVIDIA's high-end GPU launch.
Seems to me it was XFX who dumped Nvidia - XFX Abandons GeForce GTX 400 Series

    "I heard"
and yes I did read the article.

    Hence

    So thats how it is.
as in I found out the what really was happening in all this mess. It was interesting but I hope NV doesn't fail and that a lot of people buy into the cards. Competition is always healthy even if its only two companies, lol.

Though I've never owned an Nvidia card in my life, I agree, we do need competition if for no other reason than keeping prices down.

Bring back 3DFX But I digress

wait wait wait..... xfx will refund your card if it dies right? i bet this has to do with the fermi's being so hot they aren't willing to take the chance of having to refund a bunch of burned cards

Well any company will refund your card if it dies within the warranty period, just XFX had their double lifetime warranty, which means that the first owner has a lifetime warranty aslong as they register it within 30 days of purchase, and you can then sell the card whenever and the second owner will have lifetime warranty as well if they also register it.

I don't think they were worried about the warranty - they probably make over 50% pure profit on manufacturing + selling the cards (though R&D is a different matter) ; but i agree - those Fermi's are gonna be burning up. Im guessing they were made for some hard-core water cooling systems. Personally though - i'm now going ALLLL ATI/AMD. As soon as AMD releases a new kick-arse processor im with it!
