How to rotate to portrait mode ?

    Hi,

Got my new screen samsung F2380M 1920x1080 :)
Screen can be rotated to portrait
but it is not detected by windows 7.

No additional settings is proposed in the display panel.

I also tried and installed IRotate but no change.

Is-it a limitation of the nvidia driver ?
my graphic card is a GeForce FX 5200.
Or I missed the instalation of additional software/driver ?

    Hi clicker,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

The rotation bit is in the nvidia control panel here. Do you have the latest driver for the card? Rotation may not be supported by this card.

    Hope this helps.

    Should be here,

How to rotate to portrait mode ?-orientation.jpg

Right click on an open space on the desktop and select Screen resolution. Pretty sure that is a setting that has to be manually set, as unless there is some kind of level in the monitor there is no way for it to tell the graphics card or OS which way it is orientated.

No orientation options is proposed on the screen resolution panel.

NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 driver Properties panel indicates a driver version of 9.6.8.5
and the update search returns that is the latest version.

I connected the screen on another system (windows XP + GeForce 7600) and rotation is supported,
though the test is bit useless since both system and video adapter are differents.

has anyone a similar system (win7 32bits + GeForce FX 5200) to confirm or not that the video adapter can not support the orientation feature ?

Have a look in the Nvidia control panel and see if you can find NVRotate,

No I cannot see NVRotate in the NVidia control panel.
only multiscreen /display settings management and 3D performance settings.
I guess it doesnt show because of lack of support by the video adapter or incompatibility with win7.

That's why I tried EnTech Taiwan | Utilities | iRotate but no change.

How are you entering Nvidia Control Panel, as for me, i have to right click the desktop and enter thrugh that to see all settings, as going through start - All Programs - Nvidia only gives me those three options

I enter the NVidia Control Panel by:
Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > NVIDIA Control Panel

By right clicking on the desktop then clicking on the screen resolution item of the context menu gives me a quick access to
Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Display > Screen Resolution
    But no orientation setting available.
No NVIDIA control panel access by the context menu.

Could be down to an incompatible card (FX 5200) using what is essentially a beta driver, and the option just isn't there as a result.

Windows 7 starter edition screen rotation

Just got new acer netbook. No options anywhere to rotate the screen. Want to rotate for ebooks and ease of reading documents. No one at tech support( 4 different technicians) at acer seem to know why. From what I have read it may be disabled like some of the other functions are in this starter version. Could someone confirm this. If it has been disabled, is there a work around for this. Please help.. Have tried everything. REALLY disappointed. Wish it had XP instead.
