You'll have to remember it's running with two 5870 cores, each one which requires two six pins on its own.

Sapphire and XFX are releasing models too.

Limited runs = $$$ and slim to no chance of nabbing one

Still, do want

This should make the 5770 prices lower.

These cards are in a tier of their own and as such won't have any real direct impact on pricing.

But the slated GTX 460 should.

Not really, the 460 competes with the 5850, so I'd expect a drop in the 5830, 5850, and 5870 prices.

No I got a feeling they may drop, even if its a little. People are going to go nutz over these dual GPUs, because any mobo can take it as long as 1 pcie is present.

Really? I thought the 470 was the 5850/5870 betwixt equivalent and the 460 more akin to the 5770... or maybe I thinking of the GTX 450?

Aggh, so many speculative articles all posting conflicting info. No wonder it's hard to keep up....

These 4GB dual GPU's are 'limited' runs so it really is hard to say how much impact they will have on pricing.

The standard 5970's have pretty much retained thier price point since release.

However the 5870 2GB Eyefinity 6 models and the newer OC'ed 5870's that are starting to surface vs how the whole Fermi range sells will determine what happens to the 'lower' tier ATI cards prices.

They will drop - but by how much - at this stage, who knows?

(I'm all for quickly and the lower the better )
