Gigabyte finally debuts its Radeon HD 5870 Super OC

Gigabyte has this week officially launched the fastest card in its Super Overclock Series, a customized, and, of course, factory-overclocked, Radeon HD 5870. The speedy HD 5870 SOC features an Ultra Durable VGA design with a 2oz copper PCB, five NEC Proadlizer film capacitors that provide more stable power, voltage read points, and a dual-slot fansink boasting two inclined fans and four copper heatpipes that's supposed to keep the card 13 degrees (Celsius) cooler than the reference solution.

Spec wise, Gigabyte's card comes with 1600 Stream Processors, a 950 MHz core clock (850 MHz stock), a 256-bit memory interface, 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM @ 5000 MHz (4800 MHz), DirectX 11 and CrossFireX support, and dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort outputs.

The Radeon HD 5870 SOC is currently listed in Europe for pre-order at prices starting at 448 Euro
