hm, I wonder how well that backplate will be, or if it will only help a small bit.

and why for non watercoolers only. lol. cuz the screws are different.
I've yet to try the 256 drivers, I think I'll wait the 5 days or so to get the official ones.

I don't think there are any 256 drivers out yet regardless. Just some benches from someone who had access to test them.

EVGA is also going to release a "high flow" bracket, test give about a 3c to 5c drop in temp, backplate will give about a 2c to 3c drop = combo possible 5c to 8c drop.

I'm just wondering what the draw back to that design is, it seems so simple that you wonder why it hasn't been used before.

EVGA Jacob said they had to work around EMI emissions.

That's not a bad drop in temp, with just a redesign of the plate. Might have to get me one of them. They have it for the 480 too?

Aesthetics, dust, design not ready in time for original launch, excuse for 'revision' prices - the list could be endless
