If you have the older bracket just take some tin snips and cut out every other metal strand for more exhaust. It is sort of like running a flowmaster on your video card. You just don't get the thrill of the rumble sound!

Well for the EVGA lifetime warranty, this is the only route. Mod the bracket and the warranty is null/void.

Guess I'll end up having to take advantage of the free trade up from EVGA if they are not going to offer a separate backplate and bracket to order soon for the original GTX 480.

From what I can tell, EVGA will be sending out free brackets to all registered users. The backplates, can be bought and will be coming soon.
