Hmm...maybe I'll go that route then. I really prefer Nvidia to ATI. Hopefully availability increases between now and this weekend.

The 5970 is still $200 more expensive than the Fermi. If ATI doesn't lower that price soon, I don't think they're going to be selling many anymore.

Not here in Aus It's between $0-$100 difference, brand/model dependent etc prices here fluctuate badly.

In fact the 5970 I was just looking at just went up $25 in price in the last 10 mins. FFS

Availability smability. I didn't think I could get one either, but if you watch the listing of them on newegg, they'll show they are available for about 20 minutes or so, off and on. Once they are shown, you have about a window of 2-3 minutes to get it without it saying not available when it's in your cart. Complete the transaction fast.

Just check every once in a while during the day.

In fact, they have a EVGA 480 , and the superclocked EVGA one available on newegg right at this minute.

    And an MSI 480..

I'll look this weekend. I'm thinking about waiting on the GPU upgrade and getting a new mobo and an i5 or i7 this weekend instead, then get the GPU at the end of the month. Decisions, decisions...

If anyone wants to buy my Gigabyte GTX 480 I'll charge $499 plus shipping. I wont charge a penny over. Not like those ebay loosers asking $700..

Only wanna sell the Gigabyte though guys.

Also my Gigabyte came with the Mini HDMI to HDMI like all other Fermi cards, but it was a thin and silver ended wire, my eVGA 480 came with a Much fatter, better quality, larger Guage Mini HDMI to HDMI and it was Gold tipped like most more expensive better cables are.. just a FYI

PM me if you want my Gigabyte GTX 480..

lol, I see this post after I snap and place an order for a 5970...

I'm curious though, why sell the Giga? Lower OC potential?

No I'm selling the Gigabyte because I can only afford to keep one of these cards. I already bought the waterblock and I'll be running just one. I'd rather have eVGA because they have the best warranty in the Business.. They allow overclocking, overvolting, adding 3rd party fans. I could send it to eVGA with a screw missing and fried cuz I overclocked it to much and they'll replace it. NO other company will do this. So for watercooling if I break it. They'll replace it.

I actually didn't know this til AFTER i bought the eVGA but the only other company that allows 3rd party fans and waterblocks, is eVGA. They will let you RMA a card as long as there's no Physical damage, so if I replace the fan and stock parts they'll allow a return. PNY, Zotac, Galaxy. if you do anything to it, the warranty is gone.

So gigabyte is a good brand to have also for the fact they allow that stuff.. But yea, the Giga actually overclocks pretty well.

    Well, that's fair enough.

I doubt you'll have much trouble selling it :)
