    Radeon 5990

Sapphire ready to launch Radeon "HD 5990 4GB" - Bright Side Of News*

Oh mah gawd. More ram than any one will ever need, ever. I almost want to call up ATI and have them make a pact with MS to make the card able to run windows soly from the card. 800USD price tag.

So, 700w power for a single card maybe? I saw 650 for the 5970 so it couldn't need a lot more.

Isn't that the Radeon HD 5970 Toxic 4GB?

    Looks very similar IMO:

This is 5990. It seems to be the 5970 OC'd. Its gonna be awesome. I believe any game played with this gfx card should have the settings: Low, Medium, High, and GOD.

its a marketting lie. the 4GB is really only 2GB as memory isn't accumulative, its mirrored on SLI/Crossfire.

It's not lies lol, it's how all multi-GPU setups work. It's 2GB per GPU, yet 2GB is too much for anything unless you're running something like a 6 monitor eyefinity setup.

That's the main purpose for the high memory. It allows for multi-monitor use.

It really is supposed to be 4gb though. I'd run 4 - 6 monitors if I could with that much.

eh... no, the purpose of more memory is higher Resolutions without hitting the framebuffer limits and getting dragged to 10fps.
